This afternoon the boys seemed to really find their stride as they took on the Jokerit Club team from Finland. Knowing that the Jokerit is one of the top teams in the Finnish system, the boys took nothing for granted and worked hard at passing, playmaking and penalty killing throughout. The final score was VREDs (4) and Jokerit (2).
Gabriel Landeskog and Frederick Weigel both lead the charge with 1 goal and 2 assists each, while Zach Shannon and Oscar Orrpars each had a goal. Addison Gideo and Oscar Ericsson each chipped in for an assist each.
Congratulations to the entire team on a very well played game. Aside from the first power play goal, which seemed to be the afterplay of a shot from the point from No. 44 Clarke (See the highlights posted), I wasn't able to capture the other goals in a format to be uploaded. However, I did catch most of these goals on a larger video camera, and I hope to post these highlights at a later date when they can be converted from the 8 mm tape.
I have picked up a few tips from our readers that will help me to prolong the battery life of my camera and maximize as many highlights as possible. I have also found it easier to post the actual action highlights then the many photos. Hopefully, by the end of the week when the cross overs happen, I will have it aced.
VReds have three games scheduled tomorrow against Spanga, Stocksund, and SSK so it will be a busy day.
