VREDs played the DIF (DJURGARDEN IF) Sport Club which is composed of an elite group of 92s from the affluent area of (DJURGARDEN) in Stockholm. The area is home to prestigious parks and museums and the DIF team is known as one of the strongest teams in Sweden. The DIF is a minor league affiliate to the famous Swedish Professional Elite Team which has dominated hockey in Sweden for the last 50 years. The Sport Club boasts the development of Swedish star Matts Sundin.
DIF beat the VREDs by a score of 2-1. The lone VRED goal was scored by: Brandon Hynes and assisted by his Swedish teammates - Gabriel Landeskog and Frederic Weigel.
